CAMBRIDGE, MA - On Saturday, December 6, East Cambridge Financial Services, a division of
East Cambridge Savings Bank, presented awards to the four winners of its Coloring & Drawing Contest, held from October 3 through November 7.

Over 190 area children submitted entries in the following categories: ages 2-4, coloring; ages 5-7, coloring; ages 8-10, drawing; and ages 11-12, drawing. A panel of judges chose a winner from each category. All winners received a $250 cash prize. Financial Advisor Curtis Jones said the judges had a difficult time picking just one entry, as the contest was very competitive. “It is obvious these children put a lot of effort into their coloring and art,” he said.

The Coloring & Drawing Contest not only presented a fun activity for children to participate in, but also provided parents and guardians with important information about 529 College Savings Plans in order to begin thinking about saving for their children’s future education. Parents of the winners were given the option to receive the prize in cash or as part of an education savings plan.

“The response from the community was overwhelming and we look forward to sponsoring this event again in the future,” Jones said.
