Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Scheduled for
East Cambridge Savings Bank’s New Banking Facility
at 243 Salem Street, Medford.

MEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS, January 22, 2007 — Medford City officials will join representatives from East Cambridge Savings Bank for a Ribbon Cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of  the Bank’s eighth banking facility at 243 Salem Street on Thursday, February 1st. 

Its new Salem Street Office will feature two drive up tellers, a drive up and a walk up ATM, four teller stations, four customer service areas and parking. 

 “We are thrilled to improve upon our 153-year history of providing community banking services by extending our brand of community banking to the City of Medford and look forward to creating new relationships. We already have many customers who live in Medford and the neighboring towns and this new banking facility will make visiting the Bank more convenient for them. Additionally, it is our hope that our newest office will foster a unique customer-friendly banking environment for residents and businesses in the area,” said Arthur C. Spears, president and chief executive officer of East Cambridge Savings Bank. 

 Assistant Vice President Emilio Jaguande will manage the office.  Jaguande has over 10 years of expertise in the banking industry and has developed a solid foundation of facilitating the financial needs of individuals, families, and small businesses.  He is a member of the Latino Professional Network, and Medford’s Salem Street Business Association.  

Also, with his long history of providing commercial banking services to the Medford business community and his participation in community organizations, Vice President, Commercial Lending, Thomas G. Burke will be cultivating and developing new lending opportunities and strategic relationships.  

Representing the City of Medford at the groundbreaking ceremony, held in July of 2006, City Councilor, Stephanie Muccini Burke welcomed East Cambridge Savings Bank to the Medford community, stating, “East Cambridge Savings Bank has a long proud history of community involvement and we look forward to that relationship here in Medford.  As a customer of the Bank,

I understand their commitment to the banking relationship and am glad to have them closer to home.” 

After the official ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m., refreshments will be served and special introductory products will be offered. Visitors are encouraged to stop by to enter the Grand Opening Raffle for a chance to win a $1,000 gift certificate to an appliance and lighting store.  Grand Opening festivities will include: Medford Police Department’s Community Service Unit: Kids Day for Identification program on Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and a balloon making clown; and a private reception on Monday evening for the Medford Business community.  

Lobby banking hours at the Salem Street Office will be Monday - Wednesday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m.  – 1:00 p.m. Drive-up teller hours will be Monday – Wednesday 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Thursday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
